An afternoon trip to the Tower of London, champagne greeting and a room full of wedding enthusiasts; who could say no?!
Yesterday was, of course, the Wedding Magazine 2015 Blog Awards! Making sure the heels were stashed safely away in our bags, we stumbled across the cobbled walkways by the Tower of London. After crossing the draw bridge, names crossed off and directions given, we couldn't help but admire the heritage and the sheer size of the place.
With a flash of pink in the distance we knew we were getting close; cloak room handy and heels now on we walked up the New Armories tower to be greeted by beautiful bouquets of flowers and shimmering table cloths with a guestbook perched on top. In the main room we were welcomed by countless glasses of champagne just ready for the taking. The decor was impressively lavish, soaked in a golden light with spectacular decorations; floral centerpieces by Lavender Green, funky luminous hashtags by Doris Loves and one of our favorites, an incredibly fun photo booth by King Of The Booth, which was unashamedly used more than once. Now, what's a wedding show without cake? The Wedding Magazine Blog Awards did not disappoint as they teamed up with Hummingbird Bakery to fill the place with mouth-watering cupcakes. The show-stopper came from Ann’s Designer Cakes, in the form of a London Skyline centerpiece, just look at it!Glass of champers in hand and cupcake crumbs brushed off it was time to network! Bumping into Wedding Magazines editor, Claire Ridley, first thing was a pleasure. We also caught up with the amazing Ian Stuart Bride, Stephanie Lomas from Jlm Couture and Marina from Style And The Bride. The room was buzzing with great people, bloggers, and an undeniable excitement.Aside from cupcakes and champagne, the most important highlight of the day was the awards ceremony. After an enlightening introduction from Claire Ridley, Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing took to the stage to present. With each award given there was a real sense of camaraderie between the nominated. Cheers from the crowd evidenced the great support and genuine delight of all involved. Such support in the blogging community is always a pleasure to behold. Before the start of the show we were introduced to the lovely Helen Howells from The Wedding Bazaar. Helen was nominated for ‘Best New Comer’ and was modestly convinced she wouldn’t win. So, when The Wedding Bazaar was revealed as the winner, we couldn't have been more thrilled! A full list of categories and winners are available on Wedding Magazines website here. After all of the awards were handed out and the show was brought to an close, canapes emerged and the queue for Jamie Laing selfies had began. It was an inspiring show, set in a beautiful location and a real pleasure to watch. Leaving the venue with a generous goody bag in hand it was time to say goodbye to the Tower of London. The goody bag full of lovely items such as Yankee candles, Starbucks vouchers, White Company lotions and much more, we couldn't help but personalize our tote!
Here's to next year!
