Now, who out of us all hasn’t dreamt of a winter wedding? The snow falling, the horse and carriage, the white trees, the warm fires; who doesn’t have a 10 minute daydream just at the mere thought of it?! Now if you want to go for the Winter Wonderland ideal you’re going to have to start organizing, there’s a wealth of choice so we’re here to give you a hand.
When I say the dream Winter Wonderland Wedding you could be thinking castle, maybe a barn, or obviously, a church; each one of these venues has incredible potential to add some real magic to your day. A castle has such wow factor, you’ll feel like you’ve been placed straight into a fairy tale especially with the surrounding scenery; the inside having the golden lights of the fire reflect against the stone walls and the wooden beams oozing character. Now if you would like something a little more modest a converted barn will look beautiful, big windows drenching the venue in light, fairy lights adding the cosy element and the character coming from the building all adding up to a stunning venue. Feeling something a little more traditional? Step yourself into a Christmas film and go for the church choice!
Right, it’s time for the main event; the dress! No winter wonderland wedding is complete without a dress so gorgeous you can almost hear the Disney opening credits. Now I’m personally partial to a dramatic wedding gown, if you want a traditionally beautiful statement then how this Justin Alexander design, gorgeous shape and stunning detailing. If you fancied trying something a little more modern and different this Vera Wang has the silhouette and shape or a traditional dress with modern twists such as the detailing if you wanted to update the classics. Now for something timeless and if you’re not as big for the puffy dresses as I am you can go with this stunning Maggie Sottero fitted gown, beautiful detailing and still oh so statement making.
Now for our personal expertise, wedding shoes! Obviously it all depends on your style of dress, the Saskia heel is great if you’ve got a white dress with a bit of crystal detailing, strong shape, pointy tip and a long heel, what more could you want from a shoe? Our Felicity is perfect if you fancy something just as stunning but a little less bling, the perfect shoe for almost any dress. Our Catherine heel fits a winter wonderland wedding to a T, float down the aisle as if you’re covered in crystal encrusted snow. If you like a little bling but not covered our Packham heel is a great mix of modern and vintage with the curved shapes mixed with the stones. Our pleated Mia heel adorned in tear drop crystals will make sure you look like you stepped out of a pure fairy tale living your winter dream.
Time to let your hair down! Figuratively of course, as it most probably took hours. Now it’s going to be cold so let’s have a brainstorm for a few inside entertainment ideas. A photobooth is always hugely popular, who doesn’t love a selfie and when props are involved it’s only going to get better! Go one step further and make it Christmas themed to add to the time of year, champers in one hand, a reindeer in the other and a beard on your face, who wouldn’t enjoy that. A DJ is always a good choice for entertainment, and depending how close your wedding is to Christmas you may as well throw in a few Christmas dance mix ups! Once a couple of drinks have been consumed everyone will be on the dance floor attempting the high notes in All I Want For Christmas Is You. Even have an interactive element, say a mimosa bar or a hot chocolate station where a choice of ingredients are out and people go through and make their dream drink, perfect for this time of year and a real crowd pleaser!
